Another Telus phishing email.

There are a few phishing attempts out there that still make a person respond, just a little bit. My first reaction was to want to check my online banking to verify the payment. I then read the email again and as everyone should, I moused over the link and read the address that the update link led to. Obviously, it wasn’t Telus. Once again we should remind ourselves that these companies will NEVER send us a link and ask us to log in or uodate our info. If you want to verify that everything is ok, log in through the proper channel and/or call the contact phone number for the Company. They will not ask you for your personal details as they already know them.

ww.horesh.biz/misc/Profile/MicoSoft.php This is the link they wanted me to navigate to. These emails are getting better, they intimidate people into complying with them and bang! they are done.

Paypal will NEVER send you an email like this. NEVER click on a link in one of these emails. If you have doubt, login to your account the normal way and check it out.

A new Nigerian scam

Apparently, there are still some really stupid fishers out there. I would have thought that something this simple would have gone the way of the dodo by now. Honestly, who would answer this email? Why would they still try this vector?

Here is a really bad one that I received today. Apparently, translating to english is rather difficult.

The attempts are funny and pitiful. The saddest part is that there are some people out on the net, that will respond to this email. I wish I could reach out and shake the idiots that fall for obvious and pathetic scams such as this one.
